Wow... its 2013 already! Where did that last year go... it seems only moments ago we were planning for the 2012 arrivals, and yet here we are, getting excited to welcome the class of 2013 to the fabulous golden city of Salamanca!
I bet you didn't know that Salamanca actually celebrates New Years Eve twice? Home to the oldest University in Spain (founded in 1218!), it is home to thousands of students, most of whom leave to go home for the holidays. The city and university work together to organise a "Noche Vieja Universitaria" so that everyone can celebrate together before going home to their families. The result- Plaza Mayor like you've never imagined:
But Noche Vieja Universitaria isn't the only time the Plaza gets redecorated; here it is on St. Patricks Day...
