Traveling

BY AMANDA MORSE
I have really appreciated the opportunity to travel outside of Spain and get a little “taste” of different countries on our weekends. I have already visited London and Rome and had a great time! For the adventurous minded, traveling around Europe is a blast- between different buses, trains, metros and planes you make it to amazing destinations; destinations that until that point, had only existed in your imagination.

One trip abroad, independent of the program, is all it takes to initiate you into the world of traveling.  Renfe, Avazabus, Ryanair, Easyjet and Metro Stations all become regular words of your vocabulary and you feel as though the world is quite literally your oyster. And no pasa nada, all of the mistakes you will make (and yes we all make them) just add to the wealth of your knowledge.

For me, learning how to travel abroad and coming to the realization how convenient it is, has encouraged me to look into traveling when I get back home. There is still so much left for me to see in The States and it has taken traveling 4000 miles away for me to realize how neglectful I have been.

In short, the knowledge I have gained here has not been isolated to the classroom at all but it has been in my every day experiences. With every new discovery and every minor mishap I become a bigger fish in a smaller pond.
